Technology to improve people's lives
Combining ikkyo (‘first lesson’ in Japanese) and occhio (‘eye’ in Italian), "ikkio" symbolizes the first connection with deeper insights, transcending visual perception. It encourages understanding through all senses and learning from different perspectives and walks of life.
Our Story
ikkio came from an idea of leveraging spatial computing, wearable technology and AI to create real impact and solve a real problem that affects millions worldwide. Our mission to improve people's lives start with the visually impaired and blind community and will evolve to other aspects of live our technology can be of help.
Iara met Azra 10 years ago when they were volunteering at the same institution in Joensuu, Finland and Azra was a great inspiration to what ikkio is set out to be, as Azra is a very active member of the blind community. Erjon and Iara met through the first Finnish co-hort of the well-known Antler program, which is a residency for entrepreneurs to find co-founders and develop a business idea.
We have been receiving a lot of support from the community and have many eagerly awaiting to test our product.
